The Texas Dept. of Insurance (TDI) recently approved and listed the VTECH Industries 4×4 CMC Hurricane Polyurethane Glass, Impact Resistant Skylight (Evaluation SK-28) is compliant with the wind loads specified in the International Residential Code (IRC) and International Building Code (IBC).
VTECH Industries is pleased to announce their skylight as the first and only TDI approved skylight in the industry for use in the designated catastrophe areas along the Texas and Florida Gulf Coasts. The 4×4 CMC Skylights are created by utilizing the innovative, patented Reaction Injection Molding process. The RIM process is similar to traditional injection molding, except that a chemical reaction occurs under low pressure within the mold. A single-piece system is created by fusing the aliphatic polyurethane directly to the lighting surface. A continuous, high-performance bond is formed, eliminating the chances of failure due to improper installation, weathering or large hail.
Founded in 2001, VTECH Industries has been leading the industry in meeting expanding building codes requiring roofing materials that meet high wind loads, protect against hail and resist wind driven rain. From Miami-Dade Hurricane Approval, to TDI and AAMA Gold Certification, VTECH Skylights are your best line of defense from the worst mother nature can throw your way.
